Instruction of horn rimmed glasses

Harold Lloyd, a Iconic American silent movie comedian who usually wear horn-rimmed glasses, push this kind of eyeglasses into fashion. Horn rimmed glasses was popularized and endured, even through periods where the heavy “in-your-face” rims were considered unfashionable. Alongside the fact that they had become a staple part of the stereotypical geek image, this launched the now prevalent geek-chic fashion.

Horn-rimmed glasses originated in Europe in the 1800s. Those frames are a type of eyeglasses with frames made of horn, tortoise shell. Latter their made of plastic that simulates either material which have the same look as tortoise shell.

However, as time goes by, the definition also changes- dark tinted eye glasses with thick frames. They are commonly referred to as a pair of dark, plastic eyeglasses with frames that range in thickness from about 1/16″ to 1/4″. The dark colored plastic stands out, giving the appearance of thick frames.

With the improvement of technology, horn-rimmed glasses today are no longer made from those natural materials which are not only impossible to get and will cause serious damages to the environment while processing. Horn-rimmed glasses in the market are mainly made from plastic and other similar materials which are not only cheap, but also energy-saving while making.

Now, horn- rimmed glasses still in fashion in the market. Many people like to wear them. These glasses remind people of yesterday once more.
